The psyche unfolds in its own rhythm, mysterious, creative, and whole.
Sandplay Therapy is a form of nonverbal, depth-oriented psychotherapy developed by Dora Kalff. Rooted in Analytical (Jungian) Psychology, Play Therapy, and the Eastern philosophy of contemplative practice it offers a holistic path toward psychological healing, wholeness, and integration.
In Sandplay, individuals work with sand, water, and figurines drawn from everyday life. Sometimes a scene takes shape; other times, hands simply move or touch the sand, following the subtle guidance of the psyche and mirroring its inner landscape. Sometimes the psyche may inspire the individual to give meaning to the tray, offering hints of what the unconscious seeks to reveal. Most often, however, no words or interpretation are needed, as the psyche naturally moves in its own way toward healing and integration. Like a hidden melody, this sacred process facilitates the psyche’s natural movement toward wholeness, unfolding like a quiet song, moving in its own rhythm and time. It guides the individual gently toward healing patiently, gracefully, even when the heart longs for it to hurry.
Often, the unconscious surprises us in playful ways that defy conscious logic. Sandplay facilitate a process that bypasses predetermined goals, inviting the hidden aspects of the Self, the potential, the shadow, and the unwanted to emerge into view. Within this sacred space, the individual is free to encounter the depth of the soul, to honour their authenticity, and to take ownership of their own becoming.
Sandtuary Therapeutic and Training Services offers Sandplay Therapy for individuals who are open to exploring many possibilities of the inner world. We also provide training led by international speakers for practitioners who wish to bring Sandplay Therapy into their clinical practice, deepening their ability to accompany others on the journey toward wholeness.

For Individuals Seeking Personal Journey
Personal Sandplay Immersion
While sandplay therapy often unfolds within an ongoing therapeutic relationship, there are moments when a different rhythm of engagement feels more fitting.
For individuals who wish to engage in sandplay outside an ongoing therapy setting, an alternative, time-limited option is also available.
Personal Sandplay Immersion is offered as a short-term, intensive depth programme, held within its own focused and contained frame. Rather than following the continuity of weekly therapy, this immersion invites a period of dedicated listening through image, symbol, and felt sense, allowing the inner world to speak in its own language.
The immersion may be undertaken as a stand-alone experience for those not currently in therapy, or as a complementary depth process alongside existing therapeutic work, without requiring a change in primary therapist.
